Pastor Ray L. Whorton was born and raised in Highland Park, Michigan. He is a graduate of  Cass Technical High School.  Pastor Ray L. Whorton is a licensed Elder of the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Roger L. Jones Sr.  He holds an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies. He is married to First Lady Makeba Whorton and has 4 children. He currently resides in Lansing, Michigan.

Pastor Ray L. Whorton has a passion for winning souls. He hosts a television program on local GNS-TV (Lansing) and he offers excerpts of his weekly sermons on YouTube. You can find him weekly witnessing to souls all across Greater Lansing encouraging people with his gospel message.

Pastor Ray founded Greater Works International Church given this scripture by the Lord in John 14 verse 12 which reads, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
